Dishes are a pain — but what's worse is trying to figure out how to juggle wet dishes, plates and cutlery. Obviously a dish rack is a necessity.
In all honesty, I’ve never been too excited about dish racks. That is, until I ordered this one from KitchenAid. Since I started using it, I’ve seen less leakage on my counter and found my clean dishes much easier to organize (and dry).
But it’s not just me who’s obsessed. Amazon reviewers also love chatting about how wonderful it is. In fact, it has more than 19,000 reviews, with more people adding to the conversation monthly.

This dish rack may cost more than that one you have from the dollar store, but it is worth it — and I'll tell you why. The body of it is sturdy enough to hold hefty pans and larger serving dishes in place without toppling over. The edge is designed to hold cups and wine glasses, so they won’t take up premium plate and bowl space. As for utensils, they have their own removable caddy, divided into three sections with slots for knives, forks and spoons.
The metal is rust-resistant and it has soft feet that’ll stop it from scratching up your counters. And, the slanted drip tray has a mouth that’ll drain excess water into your sink, keeping any grossness from pooling up in the bottom.
Why I love it
I never really thought a good dish rack could make a difference in my life. I had always purchased mine from dollar stores or on sale at department stores and didn’t think much of it. However, when I moved houses, I got blessed with butcher block counters. While they’re gorge, I am trying to avoid water stains at all costs, and that meant finding a dish rack that didn’t spill any water onto my counter.
Not only does it keep my counters dry, but for its size it can actually hold a lot of dishes. And, because it’s so sturdy, things won't topple over when you stuff it to the brim with dishes. I’ve had it packed with cast iron and non-stick pans and it hasn’t budged, which is obviously pretty great.
