Sunday's game was the first Grey Cup berth for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats since their 1999 win over the Calgary Stampeders. The city of Hamilton has claimed 15 Grey Cup victories in 30 appearances, second only to Toronto in both categories. Eight of those championships are credited to the Ticats, who assumed their present form in 1950.
