Zlatan Ibrahimovic hails Manchester United’s chant about him as best in his career
Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has claimed that his favourite chant about him came from his time at Old Trafford.
The legendary striker scored 511 goals in 866 games for some of the biggest clubs in the world such as Ajax, FC Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and of course, United.
The Swede moved to Old Trafford as a free agent in 2016 and despite only staying for a season and half, he made quite the impression on the pitch.
His spectacular goals and fight were backed up with impressive statistics as he netted 28 times in his first season at the club despite picking up a serious injury a month before the campaign ended.
He was pivotal in the Carabao Cup victory over Southampton in 2017 where he scored two goals, including a late winner which saw United secure the trophy at Wembley.
Despite playing for some of the biggest names in football, it is at United where Ibrahimovic feels he had the best chant.
Speaking to YouTube channel’s “First we Feast” show, “Hot Ones”, he was asked what was his favourite chant about himself during his playing days.
He answered, “I like the United one. The one at United was crazy. Because when they started to sing and it was my first game and I scored in that game and they were like…’six foot’, I don’t know the song but ‘six foot five, hard as f–k’ and they kept going and I was like woah this is something else.”
Ibrahimovic was impressed that the fans took to him so early and stated, “and they kept singing for 45 minutes and I was like listen, I haven’t even started to play my game yet!”
Elaborating on the importance of feeling the love of the fans as a player he claimed, “when you get that support, you obviously start to feel stronger, you bring it with you and you just want to give back.”

Sadly the Sweden international’s career at United would end all too soon as he never fully recovered from the ligament damage in his right knee and despite signing a new deal for the 2017-18 season, only played seven more times for the club, scoring one goal.
Such is the cult status of the player, many fans regret that they never got the chance to see the wonderful striker strut his stuff on the Old Trafford pitch much earlier in his career.
