Zaniolo: “After Roma I needed a change.”

Former Roma man Nicolo Zaniolo was presented as one of Atalanta’s signings earlier today.

During his introductory press conference, the Italian winger touched upon his decision to leave Roma a year and a half ago and try his lucky with Galatasaray and Aston Villa before returning to Serie A.

“When I left Rome I wanted to have another experience, abroad, because it makes you mature as a player and as a man,” said the 25-year-old.

“I needed and wanted to change, this doesn’t mean that I would erase everything about these two last years.”

“So many things that happened were negative, but also positive. Now I’m happy to be back in Italy and I can’t wait to get started.”
