Nicola Zalewski refused a transfer to Galatasaray, a decision that probably marked the end of his journey at Roma, despite his contract expiring in June 2025.

Roma and the Turkish club had reached an agreement for his transfer on the basis of 11 million euros, with bonuses included and a percentage on future resale.

However, after the player’s refusal, Roma decided to exclude him from the squad, a measure already adopted in the past with other players such as Rick Karsdorp.

According to Corriere della Sera, Zalewski’s choice was double: he not only rejected the transfer to Galatasaray, which would have guaranteed him a salary close to 3 million euros per season, but he also declined a renewal offer from Roma.

This latest proposal would have increased his salary from the current 350 thousand euros to over a million net per year.

The refusal follows a previous no to PSV Eindhoven, showing the player’s clear intention to bring his contract with the Giallorossi to an end.
