Antoine Griezmann's father and brother have reacted angrily to the treatment of the French forward by Barcelona coach Quique Setien.

Griezmann started warming up early in the second half of Tuesday night's 2-2 draw against his former club Atletico Madrid, but was only brought on in the dying seconds at Camp Nou.

During the game, Griezmann's brother Theo posted a series of tweets. "2 minutes..." one lamented. "I want to cry, seriously," another added.

Afterwards, Setien said it was difficult to bring on the 29-year-old without 'destabilising the team' and added that he would speak with – but not apologise to – the €120million (£108m) attacker.

"For that type of chat, you need to have the keys to the truck," his father Alain wrote on Instagram.

And he added, in the post which was later deleted: "That's not the case. You are just a passenger."

Griezmann has not scored since LaLiga restarted and has been benched by Setien for the last two games, despite being described as 'unquestionable' by the Cantabrian coach after the Frenchman's disappointing display at Mallorca recently.
