New York Islanders Return Marc Gatcomb To Bridgeport

The New York Islanders have assigned forward Marc Gatcomb to the Bridgeport Islanders, it was announced Wednesday.

Gatcomb, who was recalled on an emergency basis, made his NHL debut Tuesday versus Ottawa. Although he was held pointless, Gatcomb has collected nine goals and eight assists for 17 points in 35 games with Bridgeport.

Having turned pro at the end of the 2021-22 season, Gatcomb is in his first season with the Islanders organization. Prior to joining them, he split time between the Abbotsford Canucks and the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings.

With Gatcomb being reassigned to the AHL, he can take his brief NHL stint as a positive. He impressed fans with his work ethic and has proven he can be relied upon if the Islanders find themselves in a difficult situation.
