New York Islanders Recall Jakub Skarek From Bridgeport

The New York Islanders have recalled goaltender Jakub Skarek from the Bridgeport Islanders, it was announced Saturday.

Skarek, a 2018 third round pick of the Islanders, has spent the entire season to date in the AHL, collecting a record of 4-10-1 to go along with a 3.29 GAA and a .891 SP in 17 appearances.

Since coming to North America at the beginning of the 2019-20 season, Skarek has made 156 career regular season appearances with Bridgeport, accumulating a record of 48-81-17, a 3.31 GAA and a .891 SP.

With Skarek being recalled to New York, he will have the opportunity to make his NHL debut. Still just 25 years old, Skarek is stuck behind Ilya Sorokin and Semyon Varlamov on the depth chart but could still prove to be a solid contributor when called upon.
