New York Islanders Recall Grant Hutton From Bridgeport

The New York Islanders have recalled defenseman Grant Hutton from the Bridgeport Islanders, the team announced Tuesday.

Hutton, who is in his sixth season in the Islanders organization, has split time this year between the NHL and AHL. In 12 NHL games, he has collected two assists while putting up three assists in 15 games with Bridgeport.

Having turned pro at the end of the 2018-19 season, Hutton has appeared in 30 career NHL games, accumulating a goal and two assists. In 242 career AHL games across parts of seven seasons, Hutton has 81 points.

With the Islanders being bitten by the injury bug, Hutton was recalled to bolster the blueline. As someone who has proven to be able to come in and play when called upon, Hutton will have the opportunity to prove he deserves to stick at the NHL level.
