Yaroslav Askarov Makes First Home Start For Sharks; Mikael Granlund Out Against Kings

San Jose Sharks star goalie prospect Yaroslav Askarov will make his first start at the SAP Center against the Los Angeles Kings tonight. Forward Mikael Granlund will be out for San Jose.

Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky told reporters this morning that "four or five guys would be game-time decisions" against the Kings. Granlund must've been one of the players in that group, as he did not participate in warmups.

The team has announced that Granlund won't play tonight due to an upper-body injury.

Warsofsky said Askarov was a possibility to play tonight. The 22-year-old will make his second start for the Sharks. He lost 3-2 in a shootout to the Dallas Stars last Wednesday. He made 29 saves.

Mackenzie Blackwood will be the backup to the young goalie against the Kings, with Vitek Vanecek scratched.
