The New York Yankees successfully keep their World Series chances alive on Tuesday, Oct. 29, but one person who did not help was the fan who tried to rip a baseball out of Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts’ glove.

During the bottom of the first inning of Game 4 at Yankee Stadium, Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres hit a deep foul ball to right field. Betts, 32, ran to the wall and leaped to make the catch. A fan interfered though, grabbing the right fielder’s glove and trying to remove the ball. A second fan appeared to grab Betts' wrist. The ball popped out of the glove and into the stands.

The umpires wasted no time calling Torres, 27, out on fan interference. A league official told The Athletic that the fan and the one sitting beside him were ejected from Yankee Stadium.

Game 4 on Tuesday was the Yankees’ last chance to keep the World Series going. The Dodgers won the first three games of the series, including Game 1 on a dramatic walk-off Grand Slam by Freddie Freeman.
