It is a great dream for any who plays in Barcelona to one day represent the first team. The Catalan giants remain one of the world’s most prestigious teams, and players from all over the world aspire to represent them. That is why, for even the youngest of children, the chance to represent Barcelona can not be passed on.

There comes the story of Mikayil Faye, a 17-year-old Senegalese defender who aspires to play for the first team. Currently a member of Barcelona Atletic under the tutelage of Rafa Marquez, his great desire remains to represent Barcelona at the highest level.

However, his future is already up in the air because of this very reason. Currently, he has no intentions of continuing to play anything except for first division football next season, and if he cannot find it at FC Barcelona, him and his entourage are willing to take his talents elsewhere.

For this reason, as per SPORT, Barcelona have already conveyed an important message to Xavi. This season, no matter what, Faye has to play with the first team and finally make his debut with them. The main reason behind this is to give confidence to the player and help him realise that he is in the team’s plans for the future.

However, if nothing can be salvaged, there is a possibility that he does end up leaving. As reported before, Barcelona may be able to let go of Faye but would not be willing to do so without some sort of future security. This would mean that either through a buy-back clause or some other mean, Barça want to have control over his future.

As a result of Pau Cubarsi’s eruption, the Senegalese defender could not be given many opportunities. Even in the latest victory over Las Palmas, Faye was included in the squad list but could not feature in the game. On the other hand, Cubarsi started the match and once again left a reminder as to why he remains so coveted and crucial for Barcelona.

It remains to be seen what happens with Faye’s future, but Xavi’s new objective to see him feature at some point this season is a new development. He has already impressed with the Senegalese National team, even scoring a sensational goal on his senior debut, but his chance with the Barcelona first team will still have to wait.
