Perhaps it's because we've hit the dog days of the season and people are clamoring for a big trade to shake up the landscape, but the Vancouver Canucks would be making a franchise-altering decision if they dealt either one of Elias Pettersson or J.T Miller.

And, just to be clear, not in a good way.

They are, without a doubt, the two most important forwards in the Canucks' franchise. Along with Quinn Hughes and Thatcher Demko, they are the most important players. Miller is the heartbeat of the Canucks when he's at his best, and Pettersson is the engine.

So, if they are indeed clashing over something that nobody in the hockey world seems to be able to pinpoint, then why not make it up to them to be the adults in the room?

They don't have to go out for dinner and have each other for movie nights, but they do have to co-exist, the same way John Tortorella and Vincent Lecavalier had to in Tampa Bay when nobody thought it was possible.
