World U17 Challenge Concludes In All-Canada Showdown, Three WHL Players Named To All-Star Team

As the World U17 Challenge concludes in Sarnia, Ont. all 15 WHL players that attended went home with a medal. Canada White took down Canada Red by a score of 3-1 in the gold medal game to conclude a wildly eventful tournament.

Joe Iginla (Edmonton Oil Kings)
Jaxon Jacobson (Brandon Wheat Kings)
Brett Olson (Vancouver Giants)
Cruz Pavao (Tri-City Americans)

Canada Red (Gold Medal)

Ryan Lin (Vancouver)
Giorgos Pantelas (Brandon)
Daxon Rudolph (Prince Albert Raiders)
Keaton Verhoeff (Victoria Royals)
Riley Boychuk (Prince Albert)
Mathis Preston (Spokane)
Liam and Markus Ruck (Medicine Hat Tigers)

DuPont, Verhoeff, and Preston were also named to the tournament All-Star Team. Preston led the pack in goals with six, as well as tying for third in points. Royals prospect Verhoeff finished with a goal and four assists, while exceptional status rookie DuPont tallied four assist while largely looking like one of the most talented players on the ice at all times.

All players are expected to return to their respective clubs for their next game.
