Here’s who won Missouri state championships in high school football this weekend
Several Kansas City-area high school football teams played (or will play) for Missouri state championships on Saturday.
The Show-Me Bowl games for MSHSAA trophies took place this weekend at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium in Columbia and Spratt Stadium at Missouri Western in St. Joseph.
Here’s a rundown of Saturday’s state finals, with scores from Friday’s championship contests also included below.
Class 1: Adrian 34, Penney 13
Adrian and Penney battled through a competitive first half, but the second half at Faurot Field in Columbia told a different story. Colton Miller found Mason Rusow for a touchdown and ran for a 73-yard score as Adrian turned a one-point halftime advantage into an eventual 21-point championship win.

Penney led early, 7-0 and then 13-7, after touchdown runs by Jack Cooley and Titus McBee. But Adrian answered twice in the first half on a pair of Andrew Kendrick touchdown runs. Brock Ford added a second-half rushing touchdown for Adrian, which ran for 237 yards as a team.
McBee led Penney with 128 rushing yards and threw for 72. Miller threw for 91 yards and ran for 112. Miller also had a 54-yard punt and kicked through 4 of 5 extra points for good measure.
Eight-man: Archie 48, North Shelby 20
In a sunny afternoon showdown at Spratt Stadium in St. Joe, North Shelby sophomore running back Gannon Bowen nearly stole the show with three first-half TDs. They staked the Raiders to a 20-16 lead.

But the Whirlwinds, who got their first TD of the day from junior back Tristan Leeper, assumed control after halftime.
Archie outscored the North Shelby 32-0 the rest of the way en route to a decisive victory that completed a perfect 14-0 season. It’s the second straight state championship for Archie in southern Cass County.
