Who won Heisman Trophy in 2023? Full list of Heisman Trophy winners, by year

The list of Heisman Trophy winners is a who's who of football, from No. 1 draft picks to Hall of Famers and Super Bowl champions. One more player is set to join the illustrious fraternity next week.

Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty are the favorites to hoist the Heisman Memorial Trophy on Dec. 14. The four finalists will be revealed on Dec. 9. A win by either Hunter or Jeanty would mark only the fifth time a non-quarterback has won the Heisman since 2000.

A quarterback has won the Heisman Trophy the most out of any position since the trophy first was awarded in 1935. A total of 36 quarterbacks have won the Heisman, most recently Jayden Daniels in 2023. The LSU quarterback was selected by the Washington Commanders with the second overall pick of the 2024 NFL draft and has had a breakout rookie campaign, completing 69.6% of his passes for 2,819 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions.
