Chelsea will face holders Lyon in the quarter-finals of the Women’s Champions League, with Arsenal drawn against Bayern Munich.

Emma Hayes’ side dropped just two points in the group stage as they topped Group A, but their reward is a last-eight clash against Lyon, who lifted the trophy for the eighth time after beating Barcelona in last season’s final.

Arsenal finished above Lyon in Group B, helped by a stunning 5-1 win in France, and they will play Bayern in the quarter-finals.

The German side beat Barcelona in the group stage, but finished second on goal difference. They will host Arsenal in the first leg, with those matches taking place on March 21/22, before the return fixture at the Emirates a week later.

The semi-final draw was also conducted, and the Gunners will play either Wolfsburg or PSG in the last four should they get past Bayern. Chelsea meanwhile would face Roma or Barcelona, meaning an all-English final is possible.

Arsenal and Chelsea will face each other at least three times before the end of the season, regardless of what happens in Europe.

The two sides have been drawn against each other in the fifth round of the FA Cup, taking place on February 26, before they go head-to-head in the League Cup final on March 5.

There is also a WSL match to come later in the season. The Blues currently sit top of the table, with the Gunners in third and five points off the pace, though they do have a game in hand.

Arsenal remain the only British side to have won the Women’s Champions League, lifting the trophy to seal the quadruple in the 2006/07 season. Chelsea reached the final two years ago, but were comfortably beaten by Barcelona in the final.
