Woll, Talbot Help Push Leafs Wings Rematch to Low-Scoring Affair

Friday is the first day back with NHL hockey after a short Christmas break and we can expect an exciting night of action thanks to some elite matchups. The Maple Leafs return to action and look to bounce back defensively after allowing three or more goals in four straight when traveling back to the Motor City to take on the Red Wings.

Other great matchups include two of the top teams in the West with the Stars and Wild or you can check out two of the bottom teams in the league when the Sabres take on the Blackhawks. It should be a great night of games and we look to improve on our impressive records like our 32-24 record on game total and team unders this season.

All betting lines are from Bet365 and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.

Bet: Maple Leafs Red Wings Under 6.0 goals (-120), Maple Leafs ML (-140)

The Leafs defence has hit a wall as of late with their slew of injuries between the pipes and spotty absences like blueline anchor Chris Tanev. They will return to Detroit after losing 4-2 to the Wings two weeks ago but will maybe get there revenge as they are due for a bounce back performance.

This could be a tight matchup as the Red Wings are also looking for a bounce in the right direction as they've lost three of their last four games following their home win over the Leafs.

Detroit has seen their defence crumble in a similar fashion with 13 goals allowed over their last three games with two of the losses being a brutal home-and-home loss to a bad Habs team that outscored them nine to four.

Everyone will be expecting an over game here and most of the public is as they are betting it at a whopping 84 per cent. The line is so low once again because these teams do have the makings to put together another low scoring game with the Leafs looking to start Joseph Woll and the Red Wings starting veteran goaltender Cam Talbot. Both netminders have goals against averages under 2.79 this season.

As far as expecting someone to win the game, the Red Wings are long overdue for a win but I would be surprised to see the Buds not make adjustments from their first meeting and find a way to come out on top.
