Winter Weather Forces Schedule Change For Stingrays-Swamp Rabbits Game

Winter weather is rearing its ugly head and affecting events across the sports landscape.

The South Carolina Stingrays announced Thursday due to winter weather in Greenville, Friday’s matchup against the Swamp Rabbits has been rescheduled to Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 5:05 Pm. It will be South Carolina's final game of the 2024-25 regular season.

The Rays have won three of their last four games, including a 7-3 victory over the Atlanta Gladiators Wednesday night in Duluth, Georgia.

Seven different Stingrays scored on the night: Micah Miller, Ben Hawerchuk, Erik Middendorf, Charlie Combs, Kyler Kupka, Josh Wilkins, and Jacob Graves. South Carolina goaltender Garin Bjorklund made 22 saves in the victory, which moves the club’s record to 20-9-2-1 for 43 points. They currently sit second in the South Division behind the defending Kelly Cup Champion Florida Everblades.

The Rays never trailed, scoring four of the five goals in the first period for a 4-1 lead before cruising the rest of the way.

Armed with an unexpected day off, the Stingrays will travel to Jacksonville for a Saturday contest against the Icemen. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 Pm ET.
