OTTAWA - Winnipeg Jets prospect Mark Scheifele had three goals and three assists as the Barrie Colts pounded the Ottawa 67's 10-1 on Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Scheifele had his hat trick before the game was barely halfway done and completed his six-point night with a third-period assist.

"We took advantage of them early and what can you say about Scheifele…he was a man amongst boys," said Colts captain Ryan O'Connor. "We need him if we want to go far this year."

Erik Bradford and Zach Hall had two goals and two assists each for the Colts (35-16-3), while Brendan Lemieux had a goal and three assists. Barrie leads the Eastern Conference by three points over the Belleville Bulls.

Mitchell Theoret and Andreas Athanasiou each picked up a goal and an assist in the win. Mathias Niederberger went the distance making 28 saves.

Brett Gustavsen had the lone goal for the 67's (15-36-1), who were outshot 40-29. Clint Windsor started in goal and allowed five goals on 16 shots. Jacob Blair mopped up, allowing five goals on 24 shots.

The Colts were 2 for 2 on the power play while the 67's went 1 for 3.
