Winnipeg Jets Look to Exact Revenge in Rematch against Florida Panthers Tuesday

The Winnipeg Jets look to make up for their 5-0 loss at the hands of the Florida Panthers Saturday when they face off again on Tuesday, this time in Winnipeg.

It'll be a sizeable game for the Jets as they aim to avoid a three-game losing streak and get back on track with their 16th win of the season. The Panthers are showing again why they made back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals as they've secured a 12-5-1 record through 18 games and have won eight of their last ten games.

It'll be an elite goaltending matchup between two living legends in the sport with Florida likely starting Sergei Bobrovsky and Winnipeg turning to reigning Vezina trophy winner Connor Hellebuyck.

Bobrovsky had one of his best career starts against the Jets on Saturday when he earned a 27-save shutout. His history in this matchup is normally more gruesome with a 6-10-2 record, a goals against average of 3.37 and a save percentage of .890 in 20 career games against the Jets. Winnipeg will look to get payback and they should in a big way with this advantage.

The loss on Saturday ended the Jets four-game winning streak against the Panthers dating back to April of 2022 being the last time Florida had beat them. Their history in Winnipeg goes back even further with the Jets winning nine of their last 12 matchups versus the Panthers at home.

The Jets offence should resurrect themselves after scoring just one goal over the past two games. It should be a decent spot for centre Mark Scheifele to find the back of the net as he's scored just four goals over their last 13 games but has eight goals in his last 12 games against Florida.

Catch the game on Sportsnet at 7:00 PM MT, or catch the live broadcast on Power 97, the FM home of the Winnipeg Jets. If you are interested in attending, tickets are reasonable for Jets versus the Cats with the lowest pair being sold at roughly C$66.
