‘It’s what winners do.’ LA Chargers radio broadcasters praised Chiefs on Sunday
An unusual stat to come from the Chiefs’ 17-10 win Sunday over the Chargers was this: KC has won 11 straight road games in the series in four different cities.
The first three wins were in San Diego, when it was the Chargers’ home. Then came two Chiefs victories in Carson, California, followed by one in Mexico City. The last five Chiefs wins have been at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
As the Chiefs were wrapping up Sunday’s win at SoFi Stadium, Chargers play-by-play broadcaster Matt Smith and analyst Daniel Jeremiah mentioned that 11-game streak.
The duo also heaped praise on the Chiefs for their success.
After the Chiefs picked up a first down that allowed them to run out the clock, the Chargers broadcasters talked about KC.
“So the Chiefs now tie the NFL record seven straight victories, all by seven points or less,” Smith said. “They have not looked good this season. They did not necessarily look good here today, but, man, they just keep winning football games.”
Jeremiah added: “There’s those two or three plays you have to make, and they make them.”
When the final gun sounded, they continued to praise the Chiefs.
“Yeah, it’s crazy that the Chiefs sit here at undefeated,” Jeremiah said, “and you watch each and every one of their games, and you sit there and go, how do they continue to do this?”
Smith said: “That’s just, it’s what winners do, right? They figure out how to win and you cannot deny the Chiefs that.”
