Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Sign Jaxon Castor To PTO
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have signed goaltender Jaxon Castor to a professional try-out, it was announced Thursday.
Hailing from Phoenix, Ariz., Castor has spent this season playing for the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers, collecting a record of 3-1-1 to go along with a 2.39 GAA and a .908 SP.
Having turned pro at the end of the 2022-23 season, Castor has suited up for the Florida Everblades and the Nailers. Over 23 career regular season appearances, Castor has a 2.60 GAA and a .902 SP.
Before making the jump to the ECHL, Castor spent four seasons in the NCAA with St. Cloud State, posting a record of 20-16-1, a GAA of 2.38 and a .910 SP.
Although Castor has signed PTOs with AHL teams before, he has never actually appeared in an AHL game. With this being the second time he will join the Penguins, Castor could finally see a game at the AHL level.
