Wild Top Prospect Scores First Goal With Iowa
One of the Wild's top prospects David Jiricek has played in nine games for the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) this season. He just scored his first with the Wild in his ninth game with the team.
It might be his first and last with the Iowa Wild after the Wild lost their captain and right shot defenseman Jared Spurgeon on Tuesday night to a bad injury. This would mean Jiricek would be getting called up to replace Spurgeon.
Nonetheless, Jiricek picked up his first with his new team on Tuesday night in Iowa's 5-4 win over the Rockford IceHogs.

Jiricek, 21, was acquired by the Wild in November. He has played 55 career games in the NHL across three seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Jiricek was the Blue Jackets' sixth overall pick from the 2022 Draft.
He was traded to the Minnesota Wild by the Blue Jackets on Nov. 30, 2024, for Daemon Hunt and four draft picks, including a 2025 first-round pick.
