Jiricek, 21, was acquired by the Wild on Saturday from the Columbus Blue Jackets for Daemon Hunt and four draft picks.

The 6-foot-4 defender has one assist in six games with Columbus and three points in four games with the Cleveland Monsters (AHL) this season.

With Jonas Brodin still out with an injury and Hunt traded in the deal, Jiricek was the Wild's most NHL ready defender from the Iowa Wild.

Minnesota host the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday before going on a three-game road trip on Friday.
