ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Wild have announced on Friday that they have placed Jake Middleton on the Long-Term Injured Reserve list.

Middleton, 28, was hurt in Thursday night's game against the Edmonton Oilers when he was hit with an Evan Bouchard point shot in the first period.
It happened on the first shift of the game. He did not return and the Wild had to play with five defensemen for 59 minutes of the game.
The good news is, that Mats Zuccarello and Jonas Brodin both skated with the team on Thursday and are drawing near to returning.

With that being said, the Wild are still looking to add a left-shot defenseman and Travis Dermott certainly fits that.
