Wild First-Rounder Earns Big Ten Second Star Of The Week

The Wild's 2023 first-round draft pick has had a lot of noice around him in his career. He was drafted with the 21st overall pick after he had just five goals and 12 points in 33 games during his freshman season at Wisconsin.

In 2023-24, Charlie Stramel had a down year. He recorded only three goals and eight points in 34 games and was used sometimes as a fourth line right wing.

After his sophomore season at Wisconsin, Stramel transferred to Michigan State and has taken on a huge role.

Stramel, 20, has been the team's first-line center for pretty much the whole year and has been a very effective player on a top three team in the Nation.

In 24 games for the Spartans, Stramel has eight goals and 21 points. He has already matched two season's worth of goals in just his first year at Michigan State and has already surpassed his career point total.

Last week, Stramel was given the Big Ten's Second Star of The Week honors after he recorded two goals and one assist. He even notched his first career shorthanded goal.

It is good to see Stramel is finding his game again and being an important player on a really good Michigan State team that could win it all this year.
