Vanderbilt has become an underdog hero for sports bettors this season.

With its 17-7 road win over Auburn on Saturday, the Commodores both earned eligibility for a bowl game and won its fourth game this season as a 7-point or more underdog against the spread.

Only the 2016 Vanderbilt team, the 2016 Wyoming team and the 2005 SMU team have also won four games as an underdog of seven or more points against the spread for FBS teams in the last 20 years, per ESPN.

Wins against Virginia Tech, Alabama and Kentucky also factored into this impressive mark for the Commodores.

We bet Vanderbilt will get a chance to add to this mark with its games against ranked opponents like LSU and Tennessee later this month.
