Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an explanation for his decision to drop key attacking pair Lamine Yamal and Raphinha to the bench for the club’s latest outing.

Barca, of course, are currently locked in action, in a La Liga clash.

Still boasting a flawless record across the Spanish top-flight season to date, the Blaugrana have made the trip to El Sadar, for a meeting with Osasuna.

In their search for an 8th league victory on the spin, though, the Barcelona coaching staff have opted to shake things up.

Dropping out of the visitors’ XI in Pamplona were the likes of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Marc Casadó and Iñigo Martínez.

Speaking to the media ahead of proceedings getting underway, boss Hansi Flick was in turn asked for an explanation for the rotation in his line-up.

And the German tactician went on to point towards the hectic fixture list facing his side at present:

“We have to rotate, we have several matches upcoming,” Flick began. “Today Lamine, Raphinha, and Iñigo are on the bench because they’ve played a lot in recent weeks.”
