Why Hansi Flick apologised to one of Barcelona’s youngsters after Valladolid clash
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick issued a heartfelt apology to one of the club’s up-and-coming talents in the aftermath of their most recent outing.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Héctor Fort as the player in question.
Defender Fort has for his part endured something of a disappointing opening to the campaign.
After being tipped to play an increasingly prominent role in Catalunya’s capital this season, the 18-year-old was not afforded a single minute of playing time across Barcelona’s four outings to date.
Most recently, against Real Valladolid this past weekend, Fort was forced to watch on from the bench once more, as his teammates ran riot to the tune of a 7-0 triumph.
And, as per the aforementioned MD, as much culminated in a sincere post-match apology on the part of Hansi Flick.
The understanding is that the intention of Barca’s boss was to hand Fort his first minutes of the term during the 2nd-half at Montjuïc.
However, after Dani Olmo asked to be replaced, Flick was forced to alter his plans.
In turn, ‘Hansi Flick personally apologised to him and congratulated him on the work done. He will have other opportunities.’
