Why did Ohio State reportedly dismiss TikTok star Caden Davis before the national title game?

This is something noteworthy before the national title game between Ohio State and Notre Dame: per The Lantern (the school's newspaper), walk-on defensive end "has been dismissed from Ohio sate's football team."

The player has a huge following on TikTok, but we have no idea if that contributed to his dismissal. In fact, the reason is a mystery.

But there's this from The Lantern that's worth monitoring: Davis had posted something on Instagram showing a video that suggested he was on the trip with the team to the Cotton Bowl. Turns out he had posted images from last year's trip.

"That led offensive lineman George Fitzpatrick, currently in the transfer portal, to comment 'You don't play here,'" wrote the paper's Noah Weiskopf.

Hmmm.
