Why Barcelona transfer chief Deco is not travelling on USA pre-season tour

Barcelona sporting director Deco will not be part of the club’s travelling party bound for the USA this weekend.

As much has today been confirmed, by Mundo Deportivo.

Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad will imminently jet off for the United States, accompanied by several board members, including president Joan Laporta.

The aforementioned Deco, considered Laporta’s right-hand man, however, will not be present.

As per MD, this comes with the Portuguese considering it best to stay in Europe, at such a crucial point in Barca’s recruitment process for next season.

Deco has two open folders on his desk in Catalunya’s capital at present.

First and foremost comes that of Athletic Club star Nico Williams, who is expected to announce a decision on his plans for next season imminently.
