Why Barcelona are ‘closely following’ Moussa Diaby talks between Aston Villa & Al-Ittihad

The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona are keeping a close eye on the ongoing transfer negotiations between Aston Villa and Al-Ittihad.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards the future of Raphinha as potentially set to be affected by the talks.

For those not aware, the respective boards at Premier League outfit Villa and Saudi giants Al-Ittihad are currently working towards a transfer agreement for Moussa Diaby.

The latter are understood to be willing to pay up to €70 million for wide-man Diaby, with an agreement therefore considered as close to being finalised.

And keeping a watchful eye on as much, as alluded to above, will be Deco and the Barcelona brass.

The Blaugrana are of the opinion that, in the case of Diaby being shipped out, Aston Villa are likely to target Raphinha as the Frenchman’s replacement.

Still seeking out one big-money sale to fund incomings of their own, Barca remain open to Raphinha’s exit, for the right price.

And as much, it is predicted, could well be forthcoming, by way of Villa Park.
