Where Bears rookie Rome Odunze ranks among No. 3 WRs in 2024

We already know that the Chicago Bears have arguably the best receiver room in franchise history. We don’t know for sure that they will jell with rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, but the talent is there.

Veterans DJ Moore and Keenan Allen are both established NFL stars looking to get this whole offensive unit to the next level. With Williams trying to hit the ground running in the NFL, it is good to have guys like that. But Williams wasn’t the only player that Chicago drafted in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. They also selected Washington wideout Rome Odunze at ninth overall, pairing the two young stars together for at least their rookie contracts.

Odunze, because of his status as a rookie, is expected to be considered the No. 3 receiver right out of the gate. He could become a No. 1 in due time with his level of talent, but they have to temper expectations early.

Earlier this week, FanDuel ranked the 32 NFL teams based on their No. 3 receiver. Odunze was given the respect that he deserves coming out of college landing at fifth on the list behind only Tennessee's Tyler Boyd, Jacksonville's Gabe Davis, Houston's Tank Dell and Seattle's Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Odunze is the highest of any WR3 in the NFC North and the second highest in the NFC as a whole. The Bears truly have a great trio to work with, which is a good look for general manager Ryan Poles as he is doing his best to surround Williams with everything he needs to excel.

It'll likely take time for Odunze to get cooking in the NFL, but that’s why having him as the No. 3 to start is perfect. Moore and Allen are more than good enough to help him along in this process.

The fact that he is getting this kind of love before ever taking an NFL snap speaks volumes about how he's perceived. Now is his chance to show off why he was such a high draft pick with so much potential.
