Arsenal and Chelsea won their Women's Champions League groups, while Manchester City progressed as a runner-up, as three English teams secured a spot in the quarter-finals.

All eight teams had already been decided before the final round of fixtures, but Arsenal pipped Bayern Munich to the top spot in Group C with their 3-2 victory on Wednesday and Chelsea did so by beating Real Madrid on Tuesday to ensure they will be seeded in the draw for the last eight.

Manchester City were top of Group D, but were leapfrogged by Barcelona as they suffered a 3-0 defeat in Spain on Wednesday.

Lyon are the other group winners, while Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg go through as runners-up.

Here is how things finished in the group stage.

Last season's runners-up Lyon cemented their position at the top of the group in the fifth round of fixtures by beating Galatasaray.

The French champions rounded off a perfect group-stage campaign with a 1-0 win against Wolfsburg on Tuesday.

Both spots were already decided in Group A going into gameweek six, with Wolfsburg having ensured their progression to the last eight by beating Roma in their fifth game.

Turkish side Galatasaray end the group stage having lost all their games.

Chelsea and Real Madrid had already sealed their quarter-final places before the sixth round of matches, but two successful penalties from Catarina Macario when the two met on Monday clinched top spot for the Blues.

They only needed to avoid defeat against Real to seal top spot, but went one better to end the group stage with a 100% record.

Twente and Celtic had already been eliminated.

Celtic's first season in the Women's Champions League ended without a point as they lost to Twente on Tuesday.

Arsenal and Bayern Munich both clinched their spots in the last eight with two games spare, but it came down to the final fixture of the group stage for top spot to be decided.

The Gunners won 3-2 at Meadow Park on Wednesday night against the German champions thanks to Mariona Caldentey converting a late penalty.

Bayern had led by a point going into their meeting but were leapfrogged after letting a 2-1 lead slip.

Holders Barcelona dominated the game against Manchester City in Spain on Wednesday to get the win they needed to snatch top spot off the English club.

Both had already confirmed their places in the last eight.

As City and Barca finished on the same points total, first place was decided on their head-to-head record.

City had won 2-0 against Barca earlier in the campaign but the 3-0 defeat secured a seeded spot in the draw for the Spanish giants.
