If you've lost inspiration on a TV show or movie to watch, a lot of new projects are being released in May on Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+, Crave and more streaming sites. Specifically, some incredibly iconic TV shows are returning in May, set to be quite an eventful month for TV and movie releases.

Quick Overview

Bridgerton returns for Season 3, in addition to Doctor Who with Ncuti Gatwa as The Doctor. Hacks Season 3 will also premiere in May, in addition to Season 9 of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, and The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14.

On the movie side, Jerry Seinfeld's highly anticipated film Unfrosted is coming to Netflix, and the release of Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine's romantic film The Idea of You is right around the corner.

From the sports side, we're just weeks away from the final matches of the 2023-24 Premier League season.

Set in Michigan in 1963, Jerry Senfeld's Unfrosted takes us inside the battle between cereal rivals Kellogg's and Post, both working to create a pastry that will change the breakfast landscape forever.

Seinfeld co-wrote, directed and stars in the film, alongside Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Hugh Grant, Amy Schumer, Max Greenfield, Christian Slater, Sarah Cooper and Bill Burr.

Get ready for the "Polin" season of Bridgeton, focused on the love story between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).

While the first part of Season 3 will be released on Netflix in May, the second part will arrive in June.

Based on Rebecca Godfrey novel, Under the Bridge tells the true story of 14-year-old Reena Virk (Vritika Gupta) who went to a party in 1997, on Vancouver Island, B.C., and never returned home.

Riley Keough plays Godfrey, who has returned to Victoria to write a novel, while Lily Gladstone plays police officer Cam Bentland, navigating the case of this murder.

The famed Doctor Who series continues with Ncuti Gatwa as the fifteenth Doctor alongside Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday, with more time travelling adventures with the Tardis.

Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine costar in one of the most highly anticipated romantic films of the year, The Idea of You.

Hathaway plays 40-year-old Solène, who unexpectedly starts a romance with 24-year-old boy band star Hayes (Galitzine).

If you loved Baby Reindeer on Netflix, it's time to catch up on Jessica Gunning's other work, including The Outlaws, which returns for Season 3 at the end of May.

The show, created by Stephen Merchant and Elgin James, is about a group seven lawbreakers who meet when they have to do their community service task together.

One of our favourite TV shows, Hacks, starring Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, is returning for Season 3, with guests stars including Helen Hunt, Christina Hendricks, Christopher Lloyd, Dan Bucatinsky, George Wallace, and Tony Goldwyn.

After Deborah Vance (Smart) fired Ava Daniels (Einbinder) at the end of Season 2, the pair meet again, having gone down their own paths.

Eight fan-favourite queens will compete in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 9. The winner will receive US$200,000, provided by The Palette Fund, for a charity of their choosing.

The sci-fi thriller series Dark Matter, based on the Blake Crouch's famed novel, stars Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi and Oakes Fegley.

Jason Dessen (Edgerton) is a physicist and professor who lives with his wife and son in Chicago. One night Jason is abducted and ends up in an alternate version of his life, and he tries to get back to reality.

Starring André Holland, directed and executive produced by Don Cheadle, The Big Cigar is centred around Black Panther founder Huey Newton's plot to escape from the FBI by fleeing to Cuba.

Holland's costars include Alessandro Nivola, Tiffany Boone, PJ Byrne, Marc Menchaca, Moses Ingram, Rebecca Dalton, Olli Haaskivi, Jordane Christie, and Glynn Turman.

Produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, the documentary Kiss the Future is about the the 1990s Siege of Sarajevo. It culminates in the 1997 post-war concert from U2.

The fourth and final season of Evil is around the corner, starring Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, Aasif Mandvi, Michael Emerson, Kurt Fuller, Andrea Martin, Christine Lahti, Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco and Dalya Knapp.

From possessed pigs, to a dance to conjure witches, there is a lot in store for this upcoming season.
