The real fun begins this week as the Champions League resumes, with four tantalizing quarterfinal matchups set to get underway.

There's a lot of fun in the magic of the group stage and seeing a handful of upsets, but these truly are among the eight best teams in Europe. There's also a Premier League thriller between Tottenham and Manchester United, and a compelling Serie A clash between Juventus and Napoli to look forward to!

Real Madrid vs. Liverpool

Tuesday, April 6 at 3:00PM | Live stream

This may not constitute news but Karim Benzema, one of the competition's all-time greats, is on fire lately with nine goals in his last seven matches across all competitions. The French striker will be a handful for a once impenetrable Liverpool defense, which has since seen its flaws exposed throughout the 2021 calendar year. Zinedine Zidane's men simply have to win this tie, or else the French legend could see himself dismissed at the end of the season.

It's been a profoundly disappointing year for Liverpool but victory over the Spanish giant could salvage what's left of their European trophy pursuit. Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Diego Jota are still formidable and will be tasked with beating Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane with their pace and skill - simply, no one's beating Ramos or Varane through an aerial attack.

Manchester City vs. Borussia Dortmund

Tuesday, April 6 at 3:00PM | Live stream

Manchester City is salivating at the prospect of acquiring Erling Haaland this summer, but for now, they'll have to knock off the 20-year-old phenom in earnest. City has all but won the Premier League and will now set their sights on winning the lone competition that has eluded them since Abu Dhabi United Group purchased the team in 2008.

Haaland is the hottest name in world football. The Norwegian phenom can score from anywhere, his pace causes defenders to scramble for position, he's an elite aerial threat and can body smaller opponents. Even teams as well-equipped as City can't stop him, and this may serve as one hell of an introductory point to what could be his next club.

Bayern Munich vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Wednesday, April 7 at 3:00PM | Live stream

A rematch of last year's final pits Bayern Munich against Paris Saint-Germain in what might be the best of the four quarterfinals. Bayern has lost just twice in this calendar year but they will have to adapt without Robert Lewandowski, who was injured while playing for Poland during the international break. Lewandowski has scored 35 goals in 25 games across all competitions this season and with due respect to Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, Kevin De Bruyne and Lionel Messi, has been the best player in world football. If any team can overcome the loss of a superstar, however, it's Bayern and their diversity of talent.

Mbappe is vaporizing the competition in Ligue 1 with 20 goals and the chance to play an elite team in Bayern is another showcase for why he should be considered Lionel Messi's eventual successor as the world's best player. Real Madrid and Barcelona have been swarming for years, but Mbappe seems intent on staying in Paris until he can bring his hometown club a Champions League trophy. Knocking off Bayern would be a monumental step in this pursuit.

Porto vs. Chelsea

Wednesday, April 7 at 3:00PM | Live stream

Widely considered the weakest of the eight teams left, Porto is looking to stun Chelsea and prove that the Portuguese champion is anything but a cute story. Porto last won the competition in 2004 with Pepe on board and after returning to the club following a decade-long stint at Real Madrid, the decorated veteran is looking to commandeer an upset against the London side. Mehdi Taremi won't be available so Porto will have to take their chances wisely.

Chelsea hasn't lost since Jan. 19 and look completely reinvigorated following Frank Lampard's firing. A disciplined ball possession team that has multiple scoring threats, the Blues will be looking to put undue stress on Pepe and break down a resolute Porto defense.

Tottenham vs. Manchester United

Sunday, April 11 at 11:30 AM | Live stream

Manchester United's dream of winning the Premier League has been dashed, but they've restored their status as a global giant, and will be looking to knock off a Tottenham club that has been wildly erratic throughout the year. United wants to be back in the Champions League next year and Bruno Fernandes is the instrument that strings it all together for a club that has often been worse than the sum of their parts for the last several years.

Tottenham lost to arch-rival Arsenal, and followed up by getting flat-out embarrassed by Dinamo Zagreb in a 3-0 Europa League defeat. Few things could rise Tottenham's spirits more than knocking United and their fans off their perch in a game that still has European consequences for 2021-22.

Juventus vs. Napoli

Wednesday, April 7 at 12:45 PM | Live stream

Neither Juventus or Napoli are going to catch Inter Milan for the Serie A title, but they'd love to knock each other out of qualifying for the 2021-22 Champions League. The top four teams automatically advance, just two points separate Juventus and Napoli, in what could be one of the games of the year. We're expecting Cristiano Ronaldo and Serie A player of the month Lorenzo Insigne to be at their best in this tilt.
