West Ham United Close To Signing This RB Leipzig Player: Good Pick?
According to an update by reputed German journalist Philipp Hinze, West Ham United are keen on signing RB Leipzig attacker Andre Silva before the winter window closes. The Premier League club are in advanced talks with the German side to seal the transfer.
Andre Silva started his career on a strong note at FC Porto but has blown hot and cold since leaving them. His spells at AC Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt couldn’t create much impact while he hasn’t been able to be the main man at RB Leipzig so far.
Silva is having a quiet season so far as he has managed to find the back of the net only once across 15 outings. He is averaging 0.8 shots, 0.3 key passes, and 0 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The Portuguese striker is known for his ruthless approach in front of the goal. He can initate attacks and is effective in transition plays. He makes intelligent movements in the box and is also a force to reckon with in aerial duels.
West Ham United in need of attackers
West Ham United’s interest in Andre Silva is understandable as they have lost Niclas Fullkrug, Michail Antonio, and Jarrod Bowen for a long time recently. Hence, to keep the squad competitive, they need reinforcement in the offensive line.
The Hammers are close to bringing Silva home with the player keen on joining them too. Reportedly the deal will be a loan agreement with an option to buy for the Premier League side.
Though the 29-year-old isn’t going through the best of his time, his qualities and experience cannot be ignored. He can bring different elements to the West Ham United unit and help them acheive their targets this season. Meanwhile, a few more clubs are also keeping tabs on the striker.
