L’Equipe reports that West Ham United have matched AS Monaco’s demands to part ways with Youssouf Fofana (25) in submitting a €35m move. Get French Football News exclusively revealed that Les Monégasques set a €35m price tag for the France international. The defensive midfielder is reportedly keen to join Serie A giants AC Milan but the Rossoneri’s €17m bid falls way short of Monaco’s valuation of Fofana. Therefore, it has been rejected by the Ligue 1 club.

Fofana has reportedly a total agreement on personal terms with AC Milan. He is therefore expected not to consider West Ham’s approach to securing his services. The outlet adds that Fofana’s signing to Milan is edging closer, which could mean that Milan are set to increase their bid whilst hoping Monaco will soften their stance and lower their demands for Fofana.

The France international is entering his final contract year with Les Monégasques. Monaco are yet to secure the France international’s replacement with the Ligue 1 side opting not to sign Lens’ Neil El Aynaoui (23) and setting their sights on Brighton’s Boubakary Soumaré (25).
