Yahoo Sports West Ham sign Finland defender Nystrom
West Ham have signed Finland defender Eva Nystrom from Swedish side Hammarby for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old, who won the Swedish league and cup double in 2022-23, has signed a contact until summer 2027.
"I've had a successful few seasons behind me, but it's always been a dream of mine to play in England," said Nystrom.
West Ham manager Rehanne Skinner described her "as a confident, ball-playing centre-back who is technically astute".
A product of the youth team at Finnish club PK-35 Vantaa, Nystrom joined Hammarby in 2021.
She made more than 100 appearances for the club and played in the Champions League this season.
West Ham, who are third from bottom of the Women's Super league, host Everton on Sunday.
