West Ham striker Michail Antonio has been discharged from hospital three weeks after suffering a broken leg in a horrific car accident.

Antonio had to be airlifted to hospital from Eping Forest on December 7 after being involved in a crash in his Ferrari during Storm Darragh while travelling some from the club's Rush Green training ground.

The 34-year-old underwent surgery the same day and is not expected to play again this season. Antonio is out of contract in June.

West Ham have raised close to £60,000 for the NHS and Air Ambulance UK charities by auctioning off the match-worn shirts worn in honour of Antonio ahead of the first game following the crash.

All were sold, raising £29,613 which West Ham matched to bring the total to £59,226.

“It’s been special to see the West Ham family and the wider football community come together in support of Mic,” Jarrod Bowen said.

“We are all grateful for the care that both the NHS and Air Ambulances UK have given to Mic during a challenging time. I want to thank everyone for helping us to raise an incredible amount of money for two great causes.”
