West Ham complete Deadline Day signing of Carlos Soler

West Ham have confirmed the loan signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Carlos Soler.

The 27-year-old becomes the ninth signing the Hammers have made this summer in a significant overhaul under new head coach, Julen Lopetegui. James Ward-Prowse, meanwhile, joined Nottingham Forest on loan.

A product of Valencia’s youth academy, Soler joined PSG from his boyhood club in 2022 and has since won two Ligue 1 titles in the French capital, alongside a raft of domestic cup trophies.

The midfielder made his Span debut in 2021 and was included in the squad who reached the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

It has been a busy summer for West Ham, who have rebuilt their squad under Lopetegui after the departure of David Moyes.

“I am really excited to be here as a West Ham player,” said Soler.

“It has always been a dream of mine to play in the Premier League, and to be doing it in London with a Club like West Ham is an incredible feeling.

“I can’t wait to feel the support of the fans, who I have already heard so much about from conversations with people who know the Club, like my good friend Pablo Fornals.

“I am excited about meeting my new team-mates and giving my all for this Club in the best league in the world.”
