West Brom trio expect to take charge for Preston game
West Bromwich Albion joint-caretaker boss Chris Brunt expects the interim management team of himself, Boaz Myhill and Damia Abella to be in charge for the New Year's Day home game with Preston North End.
Since Carlos Corberan's Christmas Eve exit to Valencia, Albion have been linked with a lot of names, headed by ex-Coventry City boss Mark Robins.
But the club have stated that they will take their time over the impending appointment.
"As far as I am aware, we will be preparing for the game against Preston," Brunt told BBC Radio WM after Sunday's 1-1 draw at Sheffield United.
After starting with a 2-1 defeat at Derby on Boxing Day, the Baggies caretaker team earned their first point at Bramall Lane.
"Hopefully we can go one better and get a win," added Brunt. "It's been well documented that we have drawn too many games. It was disappointing that we got nothing against Derby, and it was important that we got something today.
"It's all about keeping the players in the right mindset at the current time. All we can do for now is take each game as it comes."
"We were a little bit flat first half on Boxing Day but we carried on from the second-half performance for the whole 90 minutes this time. On another day we could have come away with all three points - and I don't think anybody could have questioned that.
"We were doing well, then conceded at a bad time, but our response was great. The Derby game was a bit of a hangover after Carlos leaving. But, having played Sheffield United so recently the lads knew they could come here and more than match them."
