On his official social media accounts, Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana (23) has reacted to the video filmed by his teammate Enzo Fernández (23) of Argentina players chanting racist songs aimed at French players. On X, the former Leicester City player posted a screen recording of the video captioned, ” Football in 2024: uninhibited racism”.

Several players within Chelsea’s French contingent are angry with their club teammate for his actions while celebrating Argentina’s Copa América victory against Colombia, as reported by Fabrice Hawkins. Players of the Albiceleste were filmed by Fernández singing a song which mocked the heritage of players within the French national team during their post-final celebrations. They play for France, but they are from Angola. His mother is Nigerian, his father is Cameroonian. But on the passport: French” was the chant sung by the Argentine players.

Unfollowed on Instagram

Following the filming and participation in the chants several of Chelsea’s French players have unfollowed the former River Plate midfielder on Instagram. Axel Disasi, Malo Gusto and Wesley Fofana have all unfollowed the Argentine international on the social media platform owned by Meta.
