'We Were Really On It': Rod Brind'Amour, Dmitry Orlov On Dominant Win In Seattle

The Carolina Hurricanes kept the ball rolling on what's been a very successful road trip as they defeated the Seattle Kraken 4-1.

Andrei Svechnikov, Jack Drury, Seth Jarvis and Dmitry Orlov all scored while Frederik Andersen stopped 18 of 19 in the win.

After the game, Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour along with Orlov spoke with the media. Here's what they had to say:

Rod Brind'Amour

On what stood out tonight: Pretty much all of it. It was a really good game for us, I thought, from start to finish. We were kind of really on it. Didn't spend much time in our zone. I thought we could have scored a lot more goals but their goalie played really, really well. They got back into the game with that weird play there off a blocked shot. Guy made a heck of a move, but I loved the way we just responded like it was no big deal, came out and just kept playing. Overall, a real good effort.

On the success of the road trip so far: I mean, we'll take the two points any time you can get them because they count the same. In four months from now you're not going to look back on this and remember it, but they're big. But early in the year, everyone still has a lot of energy and going on a long road trip is probably the time you want to do it. Certainly later in the year it gets to drag on and that's really when it's tough. We have one more game here though to focus on.

On Seth Jarvis: He plays hard all night. He's all over it. Took a stick to the face and he just keeps playing. The talent there is obvious. That was a big, big goal at that time at the end.

On the contributions throughout the lineup: That's our team. We need everybody. Obviously we have some bigger name guys that have to produce, but everyone's got to play like that. Everyone's got to be a part of what we do and that's what you saw tonight.

Dmitry Orlov

On the road success so far: I think all the games we've had a good start. I think that has kept us going in all those games. Obviously there were some breaks, but Freddie was, today, outstanding. I think our power play has been good too, so it's kind of helpful, the PK too. Overall I think we played a good game. We have one more game on the long road trip. Just need to rest and have our meetings and see what we did wrong and be better in those positions.

On the contributions throughout the lineup: It's huge when all four lines and all three D-pairs play well. Especially at the start of the season when we have new guys in our lineup. So it's kinda helpful that everybody seems comfortable and are finding confidence. We just need to stick with our game and we'll be good.

On the new faces on defense: They're good players. They adapted quickly to our system. So it's nice to have our D playing good. Like I said, if we make the mistakes we have two goalies who help us stay in the games and don't give up goals. It's important that everyone is involved in the game. It's awesome.
