"We're Not Banking on Ever Seeing That Car Again" Ottawa Senators Star Claude Giroux Has Vehicle Stolen Overnight

Ottawa Senators winger Claude Giroux and his wife, Ryanne, woke up to a slap in the face on Wednesday morning. According to Ryanne, who posted the news on Twitter, their car was stolen from their home in Kanata overnight.

Ryanne said they wouldn't be able to get a hold of Ottawa police until later in the morning, but their GPS tracking reported the vehicle was actively driving, so they were looking for other suggestions from people who've had to deal with this recently.

Claude simply responded with a frustrated palm-to-the-face emoji.

The Ottawa Police social media team chimed in:

"We're sorry to hear this. With any crime in progress, call 911 at the time of the incident. We understand an officer has been dispatched."

After an outpouring of community support and suggestions, Ryanne, who's about to give birth to the couple's third child, sent out a follow up.

"Thank you for all your help! Not banking on ever seeing that car again but stay tuned 😂 Police have been notified. Claude did initially call 911 but after the initial conversation, we weren’t sure it was an “emergency." We did end up calling 911 again to report.

"Maybe this will get me into labor."
