Things looked bleak after Christmas, as it was soon revealed that both Pettersson and Quinn Hughes would both be missing Vancouver’s game against the Seattle Kraken on Saturday. While Brock Boeser scored two goals, and the Canucks got off to a 4–1 lead, they eventually surrendered 5–4 to the Kraken in overtime.
