Weekend Takeaways: Spartans Roll To Sweep
Michigan State showed no signs of rust after having last week off.
The Spartans responded from a one-goal deficit on a puck that deflected off goaltender Trey Augustine's skate and into the back of the net.
Michigan State scored four unanswered goals to close out the game, including Shane Vansaghi's go-ahead marker, his first goal of the season, and eventual game-winner.
Isaac Howard made it a two-goal lead for the Spartans past the midway point of the third period before Daniel Russell sealed the game with an empty-net goal.
Augustine turned aside 29-of-30 to pick up his fourth straight win and sixth of the season.
