$1 billion Powerball jackpot ticket sold in California. Here are Wednesday’s winning numbers

Story update, 10:10 p.m. PT:

A ticket sold in California won the $1 billion Powerball jackpot on Wednesday, matching all six numbers in the night’s drawing.

The winning numbers were 7, 10, 11, 13, 24; the Powerball was 24.

The $1 billion jackpot ticket was sold at Las Palmitas Mini Market in Los Angeles, according to the California Lottery.

The California Lottery also tweeted: “The Golden State luck was in full force as California also sold SEVEN additional tickets that matched 5 numbers missing just the Powerball, winning $448,750 each, in Hayward, La Puente, Los Angeles, Northridge, San Francisco, Santa Clara, and South Lake Tahoe.”

The next Powerball drawing will be July 22, with an estimated jackpot of $20 million.

It’s time again to check those Powerball tickets carefully, because Wednesday’s estimated jackpot is worth $1.08 billion to the lucky winner, the third-highest jackpot for the multistate game.

The winning numbers, drawn Wednesday, July 19, were 7, 10, 11, 13, 24; the Powerball was 24. The Power Play, a bonus multiplier for some ticketholders in several states, was 2x.

There was no grand prize winner in Monday’s Powerball drawing with eight tickets that matched the five white balls but not the red Powerball for a prize that would’ve been worth about $1 million.

The odds of hitting the grand prize jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.

The estimated $1 billion jackpot Wednesday would be worth $516.8 million in cash if taken in a lump sum, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association.

That lump sum would be less after taxes — 25% is withheld by lottery officials with the winner responsible for the rest. Most states also tax state winnings, though 15 states including California, Florida and Texas do not.

If someone draws the lucky numbers, Saturday’s drawing would reset to $20 million.

Powerball is played in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C.; Puerto Rico; and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
