Taylor Pendrith makes albatross at The Sentry, his first in tournament but 8th all-time

It's a week of firsts for the PGA Tour in 2025.

The first tournament of the season, The Sentry, is taking place on the Plantation Course at Kapalua.

During Sunday's final round, fans were treated to the first albatross of 2025, courtesy of Taylor Pendrith.

It was not only the first albatross of 2025, but it's also the first time in the nearly three-decades history of this event on this course that someone recorded one.

More details from the PGA Tour:

Taylor Pendrith had an albatross on the par-5 fifth hole from 203 yards, marking the first at The Sentry since the event moved to Kapalua in 1999. It is the 142nd on Tour since 1983. There were five last season, most recently by Nick Hardy at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship (R2/No. 17).

But get this. While it is Pendrith's first albatross in competition, it's not his first ever.

"That's actually number eight. Which is weird," he said. "I've got three hole-in-ones and that's number eight albatross. First one in a tournament. It was pretty cool."

Pendrith, who shot 71-65-67-67 this week and finished 13th, said he felt good about the shot as soon as he struck it.

"I had a really good number, and was just trying to hit a hard 6-iron and land it kind of front third and let it chase back, and as soon as I hit it I knew it was going to be really goodl didn't expect it to go in, didn't see it go in, but the fans that were up by the green went crazy, so, yeah, it was a really good bonus."
